It Started With One Very
Stubborn Dog and a Lot of
Useless Supplements

His name was Bear. A six-year-old Golden Retriever with the energy of a puppy, the appetite of a small bear, and the hips of a dog twice his age.

His name is Bear.
HOW IT STARTED

His name is Bear.

The vet picked up early-stage hip dysplasia at Bear's annual check. No surgery needed, no medication yet — but she recommended a quality joint supplement to start supporting his joints.

What followed was three months of genuine confusion. Every product looked professional. Every label made bold claims. 'Clinically formulated.' 'Vet recommended.' Badges and seals that looked official but, when we actually looked into them, meant essentially nothing.

Bear kept struggling on the stairs. He'd still wince getting up from his bed on cold mornings. We kept spending, and nothing was changing.

Eventually, out of pure frustration, one of us sat down and read the actual research.

The research on glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM in dogs was solid. Proper randomised controlled trials. Meaningful results. These ingredients, at the right doses, genuinely helped.

The problem was the doses. The products we'd been buying — that looked professional, that cost real money — were using a fraction of what the clinical trials actually studied.

WHAT WE WERE GIVING
50mg
Glucosamine per chew — one product that 'supported joint health'
✦ ONE TENTH OF WHAT'S NEEDED ✦
WHAT THE RESEARCH USES
500–2,000mg
per day for a medium dog — the dose that produces measurable results in published trials
We didn't set out to start a company. We set out to solve one problem.
So we built something different

We didn't set out to start a company. We set out to solve one problem.

We brought in veterinary nutritionists. We spent months going through the research — joint health, gut health, skin, immunity, dental care, everything. We built formulas around what the evidence actually supported, at doses the evidence actually used.

Every formula reviewed by qualified Australian vets before we made a single unit. Every batch independently tested by a third-party laboratory.

Then we gave them to Bear.

Within six weeks, Bear was moving differently. Getting up easier. Taking the stairs without hesitating at the bottom.
THE MOMENT WE KNEW DR. PAWS WAS REAL
He's nine now.
Still going.
Bear, by the way

He's nine now. Still going.

Still on Hip & Joint Care every morning and Super Salmon Oil every evening. Still gets excited about his walk in a way that, honestly, you wouldn't expect from a nine-year-old Golden with his hip history.

We still think about those three months of useless supplements sometimes. The money. The time. The unnecessary discomfort he was in while we figured it out.

We started Dr. Paws so that the next person standing confused in that pet store aisle doesn't have to go through the same thing.

EARTH
What we stand for

The commitments we've kept
from day one.

1

Doses that actually work

Every active ingredient dosed within the clinically studied range. Not the legal minimum — the amount research shows is needed.

2

Real veterinary oversight

Every formula reviewed by qualified Australian vets. Not a logo deal. An ongoing process — they can and do require changes.

3

Nothing to hide

Every ingredient, every exact amount, on every label. No proprietary blends — ever. Look up everything we use. We want you to.

4

Honest about limits

Supplements aren't medicine. What they can do — properly formulated — is meaningfully support your dog's health over the long term.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND IT

Built by Researchers,
Approved by Veterinarians

We didn't set out to start a supplement company. We wanted supplements for Bear that actually worked, made by people who cared what was inside. We brought in veterinary nutritionists and built formulas around what clinical evidence supported, at doses that the evidence actually used. Every formula is reviewed by qualified Australian veterinarians before we make a single unit.
